Money Saving Tips to Help Your Budget

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

We want to save more money, but we’re not sure where to begin.

Our first step is to make a budget, so we can then make a plan on how much we can save after our necessary bills are paid. It may seem like there’s nothing left, but even if we’re just putting away a few dollars a week, we’re heading in the right direction. An easy way to do this is if you have a direct deposit with your paycheck. You can automatically have a certain portion put into your savings account and then your savings can just accrue. The secret is to save more and more until it just becomes habit for you.

When we’re saving, we want to have a general goal in mind. What are we saving for? Is it to pay off our house sooner — say we tuck away $100 a month and put $1,200 extra a year on our house. Or maybe we want to buy a new stainless steel fridge with no fingerprints — let’s say a cost of about $1500 — we’re able to save $300 extra a month, so in five months we can have that fridge paid for with cash and with no financial debt to anyone. If we understand the importance of saving, whether for retirement or a long-awaited vacation, then now we must find ways to actually save the money.

So now we have a budget in mind and we have a reason to save. But if we’re not spending-freaks and we actually do live paycheck to paycheck to cover the basics — so it’s not just a question of limiting our wants — then we must find ways to come up with those extra dollars to save. Here are some ideas:

Save On Gas

  • Take public transportation or ride the bus. I know that’s not really possible for some — but for some it may be. It can also be an opportunity to multitask — get ahead of your reading.
  • Investigate gas prices. The internet is filled with information, including prices of gas — so do your research before you drive around town trying to find the cheapest price on gas while wasting gas!
  • Idle no more and get a tune-up. The running engine is just burning gas — wasting money — if the car is idling. Efficiency is lost if the car hasn’t had a regular tune-up and thus gas mileage could be pretty lousy.
  • Drive the speed limit. If you change your speed excessively, it uses up more gas — so stick to the speed limit to improve your gas mileage.

Save on Groceries

  • Use coupons.
  • Buy in bulk.
  • Look for sales.

Save on Utility Bills

  • Winterize your home. It may seem expensive initially but it saves a lot in the long run.
  • Use wood stoves to heat your home. If you live in a colder climate or just have harsh winters — this can really save you on your heating bill and efficient wood stoves can warm up the house quickly!
  • Summerize your home. So I know that’s not a real word, but I think you get the meaning. If you live in a hot climate — use window shades and instead of warming up your home even more by using your oven — use crock pots, barbeques etc. so your air conditioner doesn’t have to work even harder in the summer.
  • Save on your water bill. Use less water!

Save on entertainment.
Instead of going to the opera and eating escargots at the expensive restaurant next door — maybe we can have a picnic and use our discount tickets at the cinema. So maybe that sounds too restrictive, but it depends on what your interests are — you can have a lot of fun even on the most limited of budgets!

So remember to budget, save, and continually look for ways to live more frugally! Becoming financially independent within your means is a happier stress-free life than being financially yoked to a money-making institution while in your palatial home.

Brown’s Gas – A New Fuel

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

If you’re tired of paying for the outrageous gas prices and you’re interested in saving up to 60% per gallon off of your gas bill, spending less money on repairing your car, and doing your part to help reduce photo impacting the planet, then this will be the most important article you will ever read. There’s a reliable, safe, tested way to save big on gas, which you can start using today. Thousands of Americans are using it on a daily basis, and you can too.

Most people don’t know, that Brown’s gas is helping to reduce the smog problem in California. April 24, 2008 Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and announced he converted his Hummer with Hydrogen and increased his gas mileage by 25%! His emissions were lowered by 25%.

Hydrogen is older than gas. Before the automobile, everything was powered by Hydrogen. photo and gas has ruined our environment. Oil and gas has robbed us of our hard earned money. Trillions of dollars have been spent over the decades and it is an extremely profit making method that keeps everyone dependent on the use of gas. The Big Oil Companies and Foreign Companies keep control of your money through the use of oil. The Big Oil Companies claim the cost of gas is due to supply and demand. But who controls the supply? The Big Oil Companies. They cut back on the supply and raise their prices. What a rip off!

It’s time to put a stop to this gouging.

Currently there is one choice to end this once and for all! EVERYONE has to convert his or her vehicles with Hydrogen. This is something the Big Oil Companies do not want you to know about. They spread rumors that this method does not work. They spread rumors that this will ruin your engine. THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE!

10 Best Charity Car Donation Tax Deduction Tips

Friday, October 24th, 2008

These are some of the most important and best charity car donation tips you’ll need to consider before donating your car, truck, van or other any other vehicle. You can donate cars, trucks, boats, airplanes, ATV’s, even old motor homes and many other types of vehicles and get a good tax deduction.

1. First it’s important to know that the laws were changed in 2004 limiting the donor’s used car donation tax deduction to the amount the selected charity ends up selling the car for.

2. You want to find out if the charity is rightly eligible to be the receiver of tax deductible contributions so make sure that you ask for the organization’s Internal Revenue Service’s “Letter of Determination.” This will verify their status.

3. Make sure to get a good well-documented receipt from the charitable organization for your vehicle or car donation.

4. In order not to send up any red flags on your income tax return know that the IRS looks carefully at non-cash donations so make sure to clearly document the correct car or vehicle value and keep accurate detailed records.

5. If your used vehicle is worth $500 or even more, then complete the newest Internal Revenue Service tax deduction form, the number may change form time to time, fill out the proper portion and attach it to your income tax return. You must also include a written acknowledgement from the charity.

If your charitable organization sells your donated car, then they must provide you with the sales price within 30 days with a certification the automobile, truck, van or other vehicle was sold at between parties not related to each other. The donor’s tax deductions must be limited to the total the charity sold the car or vehicle for. If they don’t sell the car, they must provide you, the donor, with a receipt within approximately thirty days of the sale, whenever that occurs. They must also certify to the donor how it intends to use or upgrade/repair the car and state in writing that they will not sell the vehicle or transfer it to any other party.

6. If your car is valued at $5,000 or more you’ll need to get an independent appraisal and complete the appropriate part of the Internal Revenue Service form.

7. For cars or vehicles that are worth under $5,000, use either Kelley Blue Book or a guide from NADA to determine the current market value. Use the right and correct figure for the date, mileage, and car’s condition. Don’t just pick the highest figure for your vehicle year and model and not note other important factors. The IRS will look down on this.

8. Take several close-up pictures of the vehicle inside and out.

9. Save all your receipts for any upgrades including any new tires to document and verify the car or vehicle’s value.

10. It’s important to know that it’s not the charity or charitable organization, who is obligated to come up with the correct value and you’ll have to pay any penalties if the IRS audits or challenges you and finds your figures are unfounded.

Finally be aware that some charities use a donated car or vehicle for transportation or for hauling and they benefit directly from the donation. But in most cases the vehicles or cars are sold by the charity, dealer or car donation center to help raise funds for the charitable organization. When this happens, if it’s the dealer, the charity may get only a flat fee and may be as little as $50 for your used car. So check with the charity on how they intend to handle the donation if this is important to you.

These are some of the best charity car donation tips you can put to use immediately if you’re considering donating a car, truck or other vehicle to a charitable car donation program.

$300 – Month Extra Income Can Mean Survival for Your Family!

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

When I recently saw the President of the Pay Day Lender’s Association on TV the other day lecturing the viewing audience to “Never borrow more than you can repay in a short period,” I got sick to my stomach. I knew he was smelling blood!

He was clearly reacting to the increased desperation of the middle class American worker, falling further behind because of stagnant wages, rapidly rising mortage, gasoline and health care costs.

If you don’t take action to protect yourself and your family, now; from this increasingly predatory economy we live in; you will go right into bankruptcy, foreclosure or both, along with millions of your fellow middle class Americans.

Most of you are letting the government take 30-50% of your hard earned income in taxes every day, while tax the corporations and the wealthy ever more unconscionable and unfair taxbreaks.

Exxon/Mobile makes $9 Billion in profits in 1 quarter and ½ million middle class families will go bankrupt this taxes because they do not have $300/mo more income, which according to a Harvard researcher, Elizabeth Warren, is all that is needed for them to avoid bankruptcy!

There is no way the average person’s wages are going to keep pace with the spiraling cost of living, so the head of the Pay Day Lender’s Association wants to lend a helping hand, at 240% annual taxes of course.

Fortunately, there is another way. You can take back 10-25% of your hard earned pay check that you routinely let the government confiscate.

You can start a home based business and take advantage of the same tax system the corporations and the wealthy use.

You didn’t know there were two tax systems in this country?

Their tax system allows them to pay little to no income taxes, averaging around only 4-5%. You know too well what your tax system takes from you.

How would you like to be able to slash your income taxes and increase your take home pay by 10-25%, every pay day, starting now?

You must have or start a home based business. It must be run with the intent of making a profit, worked at least 20 hours per week and you must not co-mingle personal and business funds.

Once you have a home based business, you can learn how to redirect the money you are presently spending on supporting your lifestyle into expenses necessary to run your business.

Think about a simple trip to the mall on Saturday with your family to shop for a pair of shoes for your son. Tax deductible? A business expense? Clearly not.

However, what if you were to pick up a box of blank CD’s or a new ink cartridge for your business computer? Bingo! That trip has become a business trip! You can now write off the mileage to and from the mall, irrespective of the fact that you bought your son his shoes.

Come to think of it, how would you like tomake the purchase of your son’s new shoes a business deduction too? Impossible? Nope. Instead of giving him an allowance, give him a pay check! That’s right, put him and other family members on the payroll.

The IRS says that if the job is legit, the wages suitable for the work done and an actual pay check is cut, there is no problem with hiring family. In fact, they have given the green light to having children as young as 7 years of age, employed in family businesses.

All of these new found write offs add up to huge tax deductions, which means more take home pay.

An Extra Pay Check of $500-$1,000 every month for your family can make the difference between financial survival and financial disaster.

The key is to have a qualified home based business.

New Tax Law Changes

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Tax laws change around year end just in time to take advantage of year end planning. This year is no exception. Congress has been busy making new laws that may affect your tax bill when you file your tax return in 2006. Some taxpayers will benefit from these new laws. Inflation adjustments for personal exemptions have increased, as well as standard itemized deductions, tax bracket adjustments, and annual gift tax exemption.

One of the most favorable law changes affecting most taxpayers is the new automatic extension for taxpayers who cannot file their tax returns by the April 15th deadline. The new law became effective in November, 2005 for returns filed in 2006. Prior law gave the taxpayer an automatic extension of four months after the April 15th deadline or August 15th. If the taxpayer needed more time to file after August 15th, they could file for another extension but needed a good reason. The IRS also had to accept that reason and grant the second extension. The new law does away with the second extension and allows an automatic six month extension or until October 15th. The new automatic six month extension does not require a reason to extend. As always, the extension is for additional time to fill. All taxes owed at the time of extension should be paid.

Laws that affect the victims of hurricane Katrina have dominated this year. The IRS was set up to handle registration calls of victims of Katrina for FEMA. If anyone had to call the IRS this past summer and fall, they meet with long hold times and overworked IRS agents. There are a number of tax law provisions that have been enacted to help the victims of Katrina get back to a normal life. If these people had retirement plans, laws were relaxed to help them obtain loans from the retirement plans. Deadlines to file and pay taxes were set to February 28, 2006 for victims of Katrina. Anyone that has been affected by either hurricane Katrina, Rita or Wilma are urged to seek help from the IRS or other organizations who have aligned themselves with the IRS volunteering time to give them free assistance with their tax questions.

Taxpayers who use their personal vehicle for work either as an employee or in their own business and use the standard mileage rate will receive tax benefits from the increase of the standard mileage rate due to increased fuel prices. The mileage rate for the first eight months of 2005 will be 40.5 cents per business miles and 48.5 cents per business miles driven the last four months of 2005 when gasoline was topping $3.00 a gallon during the hurricane season. Starting in January 2006, the optional standard mileage rate will be 44.5 cents per business mile driven. Medical mileage was also adjusted. Charitable miles remained at 14 cents a mile driven except for mileage in connection with Katrina hurricane relief efforts.

The IRS has announced the Free Filing Alliance. This is an alliance with private companies who offer free tax filing for certain taxpayers who meet the eligibility requirements to e-file at no cost to them. This must be done through the IRS website and the Free Filing Alliance at the IRS website. For additional information on eligibility, check at the IRS website, www.irs.gov.

How to Build and Install a Hydrogen Generator to Power Your Car on Water

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

A while back I decided to build a hydrogen generator to help save money on my fuel bill. My ex-husband had built one and installed it on his car and was saving a ton of money. His fuel mileage had doubled!

So I asked him how he did it and he said he had ordered a set of plans on line that taught him how to build a hydrogen generator that allowed him to run his car on water. Actually, the water supplements the fuel he already has in the tank but allows that fuel to burn more efficiently. He said there were two models available but I should choose the one easier to build and that although it was not quite s efficient, it would still cut my gas bill by at least 25%.

That sounded pretty good to me and since he was not prepared to help me build the more complicated model, I went a head and got the easier version.

When you are trying to create hydrogen to burn in your vehicle, you are actually creating what is known as Brown’s gas. It isn’t pure hydrogen but rather two hydrogen atom bonded together in the presence of the oxygen molecule you pulled apart from it.

This is done by electrolysis and can be easily replicated and built with common parts and tools. I built mine in one weekend and installed it with no problems at all. My ex did let me see the plans for the more complicated model and I must admit, I probably could not have built it myself although I was tempted to try because it produced better results and was half the price.

The parts had to be ordered from the Internet and the assembly was pretty tricky so I opted for the basic model, which I suggest everyone do to get into this technology and not get discouraged.

I’m pretty happy with the one I built and my car runs a lot better and I am saving a lot of money. I will be trying the other plan as I want to save even more money but I need to get a little more confident in my manufacturing skills.

I’m going to be building a few hydrogen generators for my friends and like they say, practice makes perfect.

If you want to save money on your fuel bill and make your car run cooler, smoother and more efficiently, I recommend you build and install your own hydrogen generator. You will be so glad you did!

Want to build one yourself? I have a guide at my website that will show you, step by step how to make this hydrogen generator. It’s freakin awesome and the government can’t do anything about it! Got to http://MylaMadson.com/hybrid

Water Powered Cars – Convert Your Car To Run On Water And Save Money

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Water powered cars is the buzz word nowadays especially with outrageous oil prices and issue of global warning. The difference between a car powered by water and the rest is in the engine compartment. With a slight modification, the system will benefit the environment as well as the driver in economic terms.

So what exactly is water powered cars system? Do they turn your vehicle to run on 100% water? I wish I could say that. Unfortunately, such technology has yet to exist, at least not commercially. This system modifies vehicles to run on both water and gasoline/diesel. Water is used as a supplement to gasoline. The system turns water into a gas known as HHO or Brown gas that in fact provides more energy than normal fuel and it burns cleaner as well. When Brown gas is burnt, water and oxygen is produced back into the atmosphere and thus no harmful chemical is released.

Many people who installed the system testify to increased mileage for up to 100%. That means they get to drive double the distance with the same amount of petrol/diesel. Convert that to monetary term, it is equivalent to saving of 50% on petrol.

Other benefits of the water powered cars system include cleaner engine, smoother ride, and prolonged lifespan of engine parts particularly pistons, valves, rings as well as bearings.

The system consists of parts that can be obtained from any hardware shop in your neighborhood and cost no more than $200. Once installed, it can be detached from the main vehicle engine in minutes. It can be used for both cars and trucks. Some who benefited from it actually turn the knowledge into the business by helping their friends and neighbors modify their vehicles.

Read how you can turn your petrol/money sucking vehicle into one of those water powered cars and save up to 50% of your fuel cost as well as making a contribution to stop global warming here.

The Hybrid and Electric Car

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

The speed and mileage of electric cars are compared to those by the traditional and conventional gas powered vehicles. And are the first attempt of car makers to address the rising and evoking concerns over environmental degradation and soaring oil prices. Developed by several car manufacturers. These electrical automobile are bagging market share as they promise better comfort and efficiency. One of the earliest among these characteristic kinds, also known as the battery electrical vehicle which emerged in the 19 th century. This model was made by the Woods Motor Vehicle company, which was a company that actually specialized in making.

More hybrid cars are sold all over the world, hydrogen fuel are developed in almost any country and finally there is a way for you to add a little something to fuel efficient revolution. There are hybrid that keep us coming back for unfulfilled promises from the auto makers and fuel barons. The tinkering back and forth over gas prices and lead the industry through many ups and downs. The 1800s ended with the production of hundreds and a German by the name of Porsche manufactured a front wheel drive electrical car and then later a hybrid that used internal combustion engine pared with an electric motor.

You can write to your government official to promote clean coal technology, you can invest in companies that are developing new fossil fuel free cars, such as fuel cell. On top of that, the electrical automobile have to be recharged on a regular basis, which means having to purchase or use the services of recharging station. Combine the best of both conventional for a true winner. Therefore are emission free, compact, lightweight, and they are three times as efficient as gas engines. Many of these components are similar, and some even identical to those in conventional automobile, but electric automobiles have different functions and are more convenient for you, your family, and the environment. And are set on batteries that provide electricity to an electric motor, the engine turns the transmission, and the transmission spins the wheels.

Relatively new automotive technology, they are although fast becoming popular worldwide. Run on an electric motor that is powered by a battery or series of batteries. Hybrid autos are cars that can burn regular gasoline as well as ethanol fuel. Ethanol is a no oil based fuel that comes from corn. This alleviates the need for recharging time that is required. As mentioned earlier, electric radio controlled automobiles are not as powerful as the nitro powered cousins but, nonetheless, modern vehicles are still more than capable of holding their own on the racing circuit. And were once touted as the way to save the environment and beat the cost of gasoline, but they are so expensive that very few people can afford to save money by purchasing one.

They would be using the electrical automobile during the G8 Summit. Only one possibility to consider in preserving quality of life on earth for ours and future generations. The technology is still being manufactured and research; we can expect great things in the markets in the future. It takes about three hours to fully charge before you are ready to go again. One problem is at the present time it cannot travel extremely far without needing a charge. 25 to 60 miles on one charge is about all you can expect at this point in time. Maintenance is more affordable as well; you will not have to worry about changing the oil, submitting your car for a smog check, or having a tune up performed. With the price of fuel on the rise at a consistent speed, electrical operated vehicles would offer our finances a nice break.

In fact, for about $30, battery operated vehicle can operate for one full month. Studies on electrical operated vehicles have shown that for a passenger vehicle it will cost less to run, than filling your car up every week with gas. Cleaner air to breathe is a necessity and can work to provide that. By driving battery operated vehicle, our generation will virtually eliminate air pollution and make the air cleaner for future generations. Battery operated vehicles have huge potential to change the auto industry, particularly with rising gas prices, but a new design out of California targets the niche of busy urban drivers. battery operated vehicle emit 98 percent less pollution than gas car, even after accounting for power plant emissions. And when you look at the cost of plugging in versus pumping gas, it makes a lot of sense.” Gas cars use about 12 cents’ worth of fuel for every mile, where as electric cars use only 3 cents’ worth. The challenge right now is the batteries.

Run Your Car on Water Kit Scam?

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Recently you may have heard about kits that purportedly allow you to convert your gasoline-powered vehicle into a vehicle that runs on water. It sounds unbelievable and too good to be true. While one day it will probably be possible to stick your garden hose in your gas tank and go, “running your car on water” is actually a bit of a misnomer.

The “run your car on water kit” is actually a system called the Water4Gas system. This system essentially turns your car into a water hybrid. It uses a small kit that hooks up to your car’s battery and the engine. Using a small amount of electricity from your car’s battery, it converts the water within the device into “HHO.” HHO, commonly known as Brown’s Gas, Hydroxy, or Water-Fuel, is two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen. Brown’s Gas burns clean (the only byproduct is water) and provides a tremendous amount of energy.

With the cost of gas these days, people are looking for any way possible to save on fueling their vehicles. Rest assured that Water4Gas is a viable alternative. While the big auto companies have yet to pick up on it (or at least they aren’t telling us if they have), many enterprising individuals are converting their own vehicles and saving a load of cash and help protect the planet. These individuals are sharing their secrets with us for a trifling amount of money. For under $150, you can get the eBook that tells you how to convert your vehicle and the parts you need to do it-all of which can be purchased at your local hardware store. The process is said to be so easy that just about anybody can do it. Some have even started converting others cars, for a nominal fee, of course.

Most people think of hydrogen cell vehicles when they think of cars powered by water. While it is true that this technology exists, it is not yet perfected and may still be somewhat dangerous. Regardless, hydrogen cell vehicles are still a good 2-3 years away from being available on the market and will probably be unbelievably expensive when they finally debut. Water4Gas is a system that you can install today and it immediately begins saving you money.

We all want to save money on gassing up our vehicles. Far too many of us have accepted the fact that the days of cheap gas are gone and we just can’t go out as much as we used to. Instead of confining yourself to your house in order to save on gas, you can easily convert your car into a water hybrid. Water4Gas systems are easy to install and if you can’t do it yourself you should be able to easily find a mechanic to do it for you. Either way, these systems often double your car’s gas mileage right off the bat. If you are looking for a way to get back into your old driving habits, a Water4Gas system may be the way to go.

Gas Saving 101 – How to Get the Best Gas Mileage

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

When it comes to conserving gas, or getting the best gas mileage, nothing beats trading in your current car for a more fuel-efficient model. Unfortunately, not everybody has enough money to afford such a costly undertaking. In fact, it’s a little bit self-defeating – if I had enough money to buy a new car when I feel like it, the price of gas should be of no concern. So with that in mind, here’s a look at some of the best ways to increase fuel mileage and save money.

Some people have resorted to various gas saving devices, but majority of these things don’t work according to the Environmental Protection Agency. The few ones that do work provide barely noticeable that they won’t justify their cost. The EPA actually has a point when they stated that it is smart to be skeptical about gas saving devices. After all, if those things actually work, wouldn’t it have been easier if cars were made that incorporated these things?

Right now, the most cost-effective way you could save on gas is by being more responsible and following a few simple rules when it comes to your car. In the first place, try to maintain your car in tip-top shape. If you’re worried about the cost of a regular tune up, think of the costs in repairs if your car breaks down at the most inopportune times. That alone should convince you to do regular tune ups, even if you don’t need to save on gas. If you have the knack for it, study how to tune up your car. You can learn in a few months in one of the crash course schools.

Simple things will also help, like refueling in the morning or late at night, when the fuel is cool. Gas contracts and expands based on temperature, and a cool gas will have less density than heated ones. That means you will get more gas for your money. Just remember not to fill your gas tank to the brim or you’re going to have some problems when that gas expands.

The way you drive will also have profound effects on your gas mileage. If you drive off immediately in a low and consistent speed after starting, the engine will ramp up faster and increase lubrication. This means your engine will need less gas during the startup process.

Do not let the motor idle for too long either. If you’re in one of those lengthy traffic jams, it helps if you turn off the engine and the air condition for a while. It will take less fuel to restart an engine that in takes to keep it idling. Usually, you don’t need to press the accelerator down in order to restart a warm engine…and since we’re on the subject, don’t depend on the air condition too much. If the climate is cool and you’re cruising in a less polluted place, turn the AC off and roll the windows down a little so that the cool breeze will cool you instead.

If you follow all of these tips, you will find that you don’t really need to spend a lot of money just to conserve on gas. The perfect setting is that you will save not only on gas, but also on cash.

You can find out more about how to get the Best Gas Mileage as well as much more information on increasing your gas mileage and saving money at http://www.GasMileageBoost.net.
